Ridge Global CEO Tom Ridge, former governor of Pennsylvania and the first U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, will speak at a special Flight 93 National Memorial fundraising dinner on the evening of September 11th in Pittsburgh, PA.
“We will never forget the sacrifice and courage of the passengers and crew of Flight 93,” said Ridge, who will also speak at the memorial service to be held earlier that morning. “The Memorial is a way to make sure that future generations know about these extraordinary people, too.”
The dinner, co-hosted by former Pittsburgh Steelers players Steelers Rocky Bleier, Franco Harris and Jerome Bettis, will also be attended by Art Rooney II, country music singer Toby Keith, General Tommy Franks and Chris Sullivan. Along with Secretary Ridge, Franks serves as honorary co-chair of the Flight 93 National Memorial Campaign. Sullivan is the Memorial Campaign chairman.
The dinner, to be held at Heinz Field, is intended to help raise funds to ensure that the Flight 93 National Memorial will be completed and dedicated on the 10th anniversary of September 11th in 2011.
