Secretary Tom Ridge spoke with national security television correspondent Catherine Herridge today at the third annual American Security Challenge awards and conference, held in Washington, DC.
Said Ridge after the conference: “We will secure the country to the best of our ability when we secure the country together, that means the private sector, public sector and academia all working in concert to address our most critical security needs.”
The nation’s first secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Pennsylvania also lauded this year’s Patriot Award winner, General Keith Alexander: “General Alexander’s contributions to America’s security are numerous and we’re all well served by his exceptional talent and hard work to help secure the country.”
The American Security Challenge is the largest U.S. security technology competition devoted to providing opportunities for emerging technology companies to gain access to funding and private/public partnership opportunities to assist in the mission to secure the country.
